We decided to try the Titash after a number of people had mentioned it. It was a Wednesday evening and parking
outside could have been difficult but as luck would have it we managed to get a spot without any hassle.
It wasn't to busy when we arrived but by the time we left it was starting to fill up. The restaurant looked quite big
due to the mirrored walls and gold ceiling but is reletively small.
We skipped starters and went straight for the main courses ordering
Chicken Curry, Lamb tikka bhuna balti, chicken tikka garlic balti and a roast chicken,
side dishes included a family peshwari naan and a plain naan, boiled rice, fried rice and chips.
Its difficult to actually find many places that still sell a table/family size naan bread so I was happy to be able to
order one again.
As the Titash is licensed we ordered drinks as well, one disappointing thing about a lot of restaurants now is the poppadoms.
The titash didn't even offer us any, even if we had to pay for them. The best restaurants still give them free whilst you
wait for your food with a mint dip and fresh onions or salad.
The food took a while but we put that down to the roast chicken, it always seems to take a long time when its cooked fresh.
When the food eventually arrived it was worth the wait, the chicken was cooked just right, it was not over cooked or dry. The
lamb was chunky and wasn't fatty like lamb can be. The chicken curry was good and the tikka chicken garlic had planty of garlic.
The chips were propably the best chips I've had from a restaurant in a long time. and the size of the family naan can only be
described as gigantic, more than enough for 5 or 6 people.
All together an excellent meal in quiet, surroundings. The food plus the bar bill came to £46.00
