Regards restaurant indian cuisine

Situated in Edgbaston shopping centre Regards is easy to find if your driving. Park above the shopping centre and the restaurant is directly below the steps leading down from the car park. Parkings in the evenings is easy and usually free if you leave after about 8pm.

From the outside it looks quite small but the restaurant is quite long and can seat plenty. We have visited Regards a number of times, this time there was 11 of us, eight adults plus three teenagers. It was a Monday evening so it wasn't very busy.

We all skipped starters and ordered the main courses. One thing that Regards do is let you try two different main courses served in a small metal dish containing both meals seperatly. I've only seen one other restaurant recently doing this and they would only do it for take away orders.

Anyway, maybe it was the fact that they had 2 large parties to deal with but they forgot one of the main courses, it left one of the group drooling over everyone elses meals waiting for his to be cooked. I'm not sure how they managed to forget the meal as the side orders ordered with the main course turned up on time! There was no apology for this mistake either. Considering we were about to spend over £200 at the restautrant I was a little disappointed.

Regards restaurant indian cuisine There was a mixture of Biryani, chicken curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb curry, Chicken madras, Chicken Pathia, Chicken tikka curry and a mixed grill, for main courses compolete with Chicps, Naan, Rice & bombay potatoes. As on all our previous visits the food was excellent. There wasn't a single complaint, everyone had more than enough and everyone enjoyed the meals. Plenty of meat with all the dishes. Even the meals that contained two smaller meals.

On a previous visit I had chicken tikka masala, it's the first restaurant since the Balti hut tandoori that I have really enjoyed the meal. A contender for the CTM challenge. I rate the Chicken Tikka Masala here number 2 after the Balti Hut's fine CTM.

The bill came to £202, This included drinks (several beers, wine and soft drinks), 11 main courses, Rice, nan bread & chips for 11.

Overall we gave Regards 4 stars and will definately be eating here again.
