The Rajpoot is still a very popular restaurant. Its nearest rival the Spice Exchange (to be featured soon) is only
100 yds away.
Having been to this restaurant a number of times within the last few months we decided to get a take away on
our way home after visiting friends. We wasn't overly hungry so we decided we would only order 1 meal and share it.
We ordered a sheek kebab starter, and a Chicken Curry
main course. The meal was accompanied by plain rice, nan bread and chips.
There is plenty of parking outside this restaurant on either side of the road and just a short distance away
is an off license. I ventured to the off license and picked up a couple of cans whilst waiting for our
order. I'd only been back long enough to turn over a few pages of the complimentary newspaper before my order came out.
We were given 4 popadoms free with our order.
There was easily enough food for 2 people to share, plenty of chips, the nan bread was still fresh and hot.
I think maybe there could have been a little more rice but it was only supposed to be one portion so it could be excused.
The main course was excellent, plenty of chicken even when sharing and plenty of sauce. Cooked to perfection,
not to hot and not to mild this curry was one of the best I'd had for a long time. Both of us was satisfied and agreed
it was one of the best takeaways we had eaten. The whole meal cost £8.50 so it's definitely worth a try.
