Welcome to the Balti Guide's very first review and also the launch of the Baliguide.com web site.
Hopefully this will be the first of many reviews of many restaurants covering the whole of
Birmingham. If you have recently been impressed by a visit to any Indian restaurant please
let us know here.
It seems strange that we start this review with a Balti takeaway but, after we visited and
tried the food we were impressed enough to include this restaurant in our first review.
There isn't much you can really say about takeaways apart from the food quality. From the
outside this takeaway looks shabby and in need of some work. The inside is slightly better,
an old television to keep you company whilst you wait for your food along with a fish tank.
Within 2 minutes walking distance from the takeaway there is an off license and a general store.
The food itself is excellent; it's average in price to. I'm not a lover of hot
food; madras is my limit. On this occasion I tried the Chicken Tikka
Pathia with Garlic Nan and rice.
Other dishes we tried were Chicken Tikka main course
and a Tandoori Chicken Curry. The Pathia was delicious, very fresh
and you could taste the sweet and sour taste in the curry. The tandoori chicken was lovely, a
deep red in colour and the taste to match. The price for 3 meals was approximately £16.00.
